AP English Literature and Composition with Ms. Newman

Hi! Welcome to the dedicated home for all things AP Lit. 

 

This year we will be focusing on building the skills needed for strong, clear, and effective communication in writing and speech. Through an AP lens, we will be using literary argumentation to help us in that challenge. As a class we will read, analyze, and interpret texts and other sources.

 

Our three novels this year (subject to change) are I am Not Your Perfect Mexican Daughter by Erika Sanchez, The Brief and Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao by Junot Dìaz, and American Street by Ibi Zoboi. We will also read poetry and at least one play.

I look forward to continuing to get to know all of you and your families during the year.
